The 1st edition of the Brussels Auto Show was a resounding success

25/01/2024

No fewer than 122,000 car enthusiasts marched on the Heysel in Brussels between 17 and 21 January 2024, to come and admire a cornucopia of exotic and alluring cars. Not to buy though, just marvel. Did you miss it? Not to worry, you can already put 15 to 19 January 2025 down in the diary.

The Brussels Auto Show isn't actually a show where you can buy cars, but rather a showcase for aficionados to come and behold their dream wheels. The organisers pulled out all the stops to wow visitors. What a line-up! Super fast luxury brands that cost a small fortune, rally monsters, F1 racers, iconic cars from the '80s and '90s, and even around 15 famous vehicles from film or TV. These include the Ford Gran Torino from the popular 1970s American police series Starsky & Hutch, Mr. Bean's lime green British Leyland Mini 1000, with black stripe, and the light blue three-wheeled Reliant Regal, whose owner invariably tried to annoy the eccentric misfit.

Who didn't get lost in reverie at the Car Catwalk, a veritable car catwalk 1.50 m high and 80 m long, as the most breath-taking models purred past?

And that wasn't all: motorcycles, trucks, several exclusive military vehicles, a gyrocopter, and the Ministry of Defence was even in attendance with an actual F-16 fighter jet. There was also a big focus on mobility, charging systems, sustainability, technological innovation, e-sports, gaming and lifestyle ...

All in all, a multi-faceted and successful car show.
