The centenary of the man with the harmonica: Toots Thielemans
29 April would have been the 100th birthday of our world-famous jazz musician, Toots Thielemans. This anniversary will not go unnoticed given the various activities which will be organised on this occasion in 2022, with the help of his wife.
The commemorative concert on 29 April 2022 at the Centre for Fine Arts will be the highlight of the commemorations. Belgian and foreign guests will be accompanied by an orchestra. It will even be the occasion of a world premiere - a suite drawn from the musical universe of this key figure in the history of international jazz, specially composed and arranged for the occasion.
In this same context, from 22 April to 31 August 2022 the Royal Library (KBR) and the Musical Instruments Museum (MIM) will organise the 'Toots 100. The Sound of a Belgian Legend' exhibition, an interactive exhibition in which sound and music will be the main players.
