Coca-Cola's production and distribution centre in Wilrijk (Antwerp) is to be given a new automatic high-bay warehouse. This investment, worth 13.7 million euros, will increase the efficiency and speed of the American soft drinks giant's storage and deliveries.

The Wilrijk site of Coca-Cola European Partners is one of 7 in our country. Every year, around 413 million litres of soft drinks are produced, equating to approximately 21,000 pallets. The existing high-bay warehouse can only be used to store standard pallets, forcing the company to stock some of its production with external parties at present.

The new 12-storey warehouse will have room to store around 9,400 additional pallets. In this way, the company hopes to reduce its transport by 50,000 kilometres and save 43 tons of CO2. Work will begin in January 2019 and should be completed by March 2020.
