By defeating the Hungarian team, the Belgian tennis players have secured their position in the group of the world's best nations.

The Billie Jean King Cup, known as the Fed Cup until September 2020, is a global women's tennis tournament that is contested by national teams and considered the women's equivalent of the Davis Cup.

The Belgian national tennis team of Yanina Wickmayer and Greet Minnen remain in the World Group thanks to their 3-1 victory over Hungary in the play-offs at the Charleroi Dome.

In April, Belgium will play a qualifying match for the 2024 finals of this international women's tennis competition. Slovakia, Great Britain, Brazil, Ukraine, Romania, Japan and Mexico are the other countries to qualify after winning their play-offs.

If they win again, the Belgians will be able to compete in the finals of the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup, which will bring together the 12 best nations in the world for hard-surface matches in Seville, Spain.
