Belgians stand out on UCI ranking
It’s widely known that Belgium is a cycling country par excellence and the latest UCI rankings are there to back it up.
Half of the UCI’s top eight individual cyclists in the world ride under the Belgian flag following the latest update by the international cycling federation.
Young and dynamic racers Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceuninck and Arnaud De Lie of Lotto-Dstny have joined the spotlight in sixth and eighth place of the UCI world ranking respectively.
They join Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel, who maintain their positions in second and third place.
As of 11 April, Belgium continues to lead in the nation ranking, with France and Spain following thousands of points behind.
In women’s cycling, meanwhile, our country is in a strong fifth place, mostly thanks to Lotte Kopecky. You may recall her winning two gold medals at the European track championships in 2022.
It goes without saying that Wout, Remco, Jasper, Arnaud and Lotte make us proud of Belgium’s cycling prowess. May their pedals and wheels keep turning and bring out country success for many years to come!
