Wout van Aert dominates Tour of Britain

14/09/2023

Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert has won this year’s Tour of Britain after eight days displaying dominance.

The 6 ft. 3 power machine from Herentals lead his Jumbo-Visma teammate Olav Kooij to victory four days in a row and took the fifth stage for himself.

This win on stage five helped van Aert secure the blue leader’s jersey, which he managed to keep to the end of the eight-day race.

The Tour of Britain victory is a nice achievement to round out a year of excellent performances including multiple wins and podium finishes, a silver medal at the road world championships and an excellent Tour de France which he left early for the birth of his second child.

He also won his first-ever gravel race, Houffa Gravel 2023, and has set his mind on the next gravel championships.

Congratulations to Wout, and may he continue to excel, whether on the road, on gravel or in cyclocross!
