16/02/2016

The British daily Financial Times has put Mechelen in its Top 10 list of Micro European Cities of the Future.

The daily ranks the city of Mechelen in 9th place in general, but in 3rd place in terms of connectivity. The magazine highlights its economic potential and its ideal location, Mechelen being situated between large Belgian cities and along a still unsaturated road network.

The newspaper also emphasizes the entrepreneurship that attracts many firms as LiveNation or Telenet. Many graduates of nearby cities, such Antwerp and Brussels, are attracted by its dynamism and its charm, making it a city full of multilingual and highly skilled workers.

Every two years, the Financial Times also publishes in its supplement fDi Magazine different lists of what it considers to be the most promising cities and European regions in terms of investment. In some subspecific categories, Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent distinguish themselves too.
