Belgium has moved from the 12th up to the 10th place in the international ranking of countries with the best reputation.

These were the findings of the annual Country RepTrak-study made by the Reputation Institute, measuring the levels of confidence, admiration and respect in 55 countries. According to those asked in G8 countries, Canada, Norway and Sweden have the best reputation followed by Switzerland, Australia, Finland, New Zealand, Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium.

“From abroad Belgium is mainly viewed in a positive light and is seen as an ethical and safe country that operates well, strives for economic and social progress and is a responsible partner within the international community”, according to communication consultancy Akkanto, partner of the Reputation Institute. “The presence of European institutions and NATO undoubtedly plays a key role.”
