Did you know that the Australian singer Gotye was born in Bruges?

Wouter de Backer, better known as Gotye, is a Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter.

Born in Bruges in 1980, he moved to Australia when he was 2 years old. His first single, taken from the album Like Drawing Blood which was awarded a gold disk, was released in August 2006 and was also a success. On 5 August 2011, from the album Making Mirrors, the single Somebody that I used to Know, was released as a duet with the New Zealand singer Kimbra. He reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with this song. The song won Recording of the Year at the 55^th Grammy awards on 10 February 2013. The award was presented to Gotye by Prince.
