Tim Burton takes his magical universe to Brussels
Fans of the legendary director of classics such as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas will want to flock to Brussels for an unforgettable experience called Tim Burton’s Labyrinth.
Cinephiles can step inside Burton’s mind, discover his inner world and creative process, walk through the universes he has created through his films. A trip through the labyrinth will show you 15 different rooms, each with a different theme and experience reflecting part of his wonderful universe.
Typically, when different people enter a labyrinth and try to work their way through it, you wouldn’t expect them all to take the same route. So too in Tim Burton’s labyrinth, where you get to choose your own adventure depending on which doors you open and step through. In other words, no two visits to Tim Burton’s labyrinth are the same. A beautiful parallel with the way no two people experience his movies in the same way.
The illustrious auteur and his team were involved in the creation of this unique event, which is part exhibition, part immersive experience and part film scenes.
Did you know that, long before going on to make successful movies with exquisite talents like Helena Bonham-Carter, Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp, he proved to be a talented drawer, painter and photographer? These forms of artistic expression are now a key part of his creative process, as you will see in the exhibition.
