Brussels becomes a winter wonderland for the rest of the year

30/11/2023

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Winter Wonders – Brussels' yearly Christmas market – is back, and all are welcome, from the youngest among us to the oldest!

To Christmas and beyond (until 31 December, or until 7 January, depending on which part), stimulate all your senses any day between 12 and 10 pm. From magical lighting to mulled wine, from ice skating to other interesting activities, feast your eyes, ears and tastebuds and rejoice in the holiday cheer.

All kinds of special events will take place throughout the five weeks of revelry in the centre of the heart of Europe, like world music on Place De Brouckère, a night-time bicycle ride to take in all of the beautiful Christmas lights, after-school storytelling... you name it, Winter Wonders has got it.

The 258 shows and shops make for quite the sizeable village, with place Sainte-Catherine, Boulevard Anspach and of course the Grand' Place as key parts of the festivities, but they stretch to the Mont des Arts and even the beautiful cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula (home to “winter tunes” on Sunday afternoons).

What are you waiting for? You can read Focus on Belgium on your way there (well, if you take public transport, you can). See you there!
