Only woman in Europe's top 20 business schools is Belgian

Marion Debruyne, who is Belgian, is the only female dean to feature in Europe's top 20 best business schools. She is the dean of the Vlerick Business School in Brussels, which has earned itself the title of Europe's 15th best business school.

Each year ‘The Financial Times’ publishes a ranking of European business schools. Across all of Europe's top 20 business schools there is only one female dean to be found. This means that Marion Debruyne from the Vlerick Business School does not have a single feminine counterpart on the list. Vlerick Business School has achieved 15th place among a total of 90 European business schools.

It goes beyond doubt that Marion Debruyne is an intelligent and ambitious women. She is fascinated by the strategic side of innovation and the innovative side of strategy. She thus advises companies on how to deal with changing markets, their marketing strategies and business models, for instance. She also has a doctorate in Applied Economics. Marion Debruyne wants to contribute towards achieving equality between men and women by acting as a role model for female entrepreneurship and ambition. OECD previously reported that the wage gap is decreasing most rapidly of all in Belgium.
