With a world record in the pentathlon, Noor Vidts will go to the European Championships

 Noor Vidts, the Belgian athlete who specialises in combined events, achieved this year's world-leading performance in the pentathlon in Aubière in the department of Puy-de-Dôme.

The sportswoman from the Vilvoorde club will be able to take part in the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland, from 5 to 7 March.

She excelled in the pentathlon, a combined track and field event consisting of five disciplines: 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m.

With a total of 4,665 points, 24-year old Noor Vidts is now in third place in the national rankings; the Belgian record is still held by Tia Hellebaut (4,877 points), followed by Nafissatou Thiam, who has already achieved a total of 4,870 points.
