Former Belgian Red Devil and current Bayern Munich trainer Vincent Kompany has been voted manager of the year in the German competition.
It was, it’s fair to say, to be expected, given his team’s tremendous success in the 2025/26 season. Kompany’s troops won the Bundesliga for the 34th time, as well as the German Cup and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, which is typically between the winner of the Bundesliga and that of the German Cup. In this case, it was against runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
These victories and the fact that they reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals was more than enough for the jury of German sports journalists to place their votes. Kompany received 314 votes out of 653 and won by a landslide, way ahead of Julian Schuster (87 votes) and Sebastian Hoeness (53 votes).
Under Kompany’s watchful eye, Bayern broke the record of 122 goals in the Bundesliga, and only suffered one defeat in the entire Bundesliga season, leading the ranking from the very first match day.
Congratulations to Vincent Kompany, who after a fantastic player career is doing a formidable job as a team manager.
