Thierry Neuville triumphs at the Acropolis Rally
By winning Round 10 of the WRC, the Belgian driver consolidated his first place in the overall standings.
Thierry Neuville won the Acropolis Rally Greece thanks to his consistency and the mechanical problems of his rivals. He repeated his 2022 feat in this Acropolis Rally together with his co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe.
Thierry Neuville finished 1:36.8 ahead of Spain's Daniel Sordo and 2:57.3 ahead of Estonia's Ott Tänak.
It was the 36-year-old Belgian's second win of the season, following his triumph in the opening race at Monte Carlo, and the 21st victory of his already long professional career.
In the world championship standings, Thierry Neuville now has 192 points compared with his Estonian team-mate Ott Tänak's 158. Frenchman Sébastien Ogier is in third place with 154 points.
With just three rounds left to go in the World Rally Championship, the Belgian driver can now start dreaming of taking the crown.
