Remco Evenepoel wins the Tour of Norway

A month after his magnificent win at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the Belgian rider reached a new milestone in his career by winning the Tour of Norway.

After a year spent recovering from his terrible crash at the Giro di Lombardia 2020, where he almost died, the 22-year-old from Brabant confirmed that he has regained his full potential. He had already demonstrated this during the oldest of the classics, which he won with a gutsy solo breakaway.

Remco Evenepoel has just proved the extent of his talent in a five-day stage race on the Norwegian roads. In taking three stage victories, he literally crushed the competition.

The Schepdaal cyclist was able to make a difference with a unique punch, maintaining a constant powerful pace, to cross the many Norwegian summits. And it was his explosiveness in the sprints that led him to an overall triumph once and for all during the finishes.

The Belgian's next big goal of the season will be to confirm his renewed form in the Tour de Suisse. The competition will obviously be tougher than in Norway and the pressure greater in this nine-stage race.

With 30 victories to his name despite his young age, we are sure that his most magnificent achievements are still to come in the next decade.
