Red Flames qualify for EURO 2022

Following their win against Switzerland, the Belgian footballers will take part in the final phase of the UEFA Women’s EURO in England.

Although the Belgium women’s national team was not the favourite in their group, thanks to a very convincing collective performance, Ives Serneels’ players were uncompromising in defence and relentless in attack. The result obtained on the pitch at the stadium in Leuven against the Swiss speaks for itself: 4-0 thanks to two goals from Tine De Caigny as well as goals from Tessa Wullaert and Janice Cayman!

"We finished at the top of the group with 21 points and a goal difference of +32. It’s incredible, we made history!" exclaimed the coach on the final whistle. "Winning a qualifying group for a European Championship has never happened before," emphasised Ives Serneels.

Belgium will go on to defend their chances in England in July 2022 at the UEFA European Women's Championship.
