The Red Devils top FIFA's ranking

20/09/2019

Belgium has held first place in the FIFA World Rankings since 2018, due to its good performance during the world cup in the same year, among other things.

Remember, FIFA ranks teams according to their coefficient, calculated based on their number of victories and defeats, the types of competitions in which the team takes part and the level of the opposing teams. Between 1993 and 2019, only 8 nations have held first place: Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.

FIFA's ranking of Thursday 19 September shows some changes in the Top 10, but not in relation to our Red Devils. Since the last ranking in July 2019, the national team has won its two Euro 2020 qualifying matches. The Devils are extending their reign at the top of the rankings.

Firmly installed at the top of the world hierarchy, hopefully, the Belgians will continue this momentum at Euro 2020!
