Belgian gymnasts put on a particularly fine performance at the World Championships in Baku. They leave Azerbaijan with ten medals, including seven gold, in the acrobatic gymnastics competitions!

The mixed pair of Helena Heijens and Bram Röttger won the combined exercise, the dynamic exercise and the static exercise. This Belgian couple, who have only been training together for three months, managed to bring home three gold medals.

The women's trio of Bo Hollebosch, Lise De Meyst and Kim Bergmans won two gold medals in the dynamic exercise and the combined exercise respectively, and silver in the static exercise.

The men's quartet consisting of Wannes Vlaeminck, Simon De Wever, Jonas Raus and Viktor Vermeire won gold in the static exercise but had to settle for silver in the combined exercise and bronze in the dynamic exercise.

With a gold in the team event thanks to the results of these three teams in qualifications, Belgium ends these World Championships with seven gold medals, two silver and one bronze, making a total of ten medals.

By obtaining one of the best overall results in history in an international acrobatic gymnastics competition, the Belgian gymnasts can now focus their ambitions on the biggest event of the year: the World Games in Birmingham (USA) in July.
