The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has hailed Laurens Devos as the Paralympic table tennis player of the year. At only 16, our fellow Belgian is the youngest gold medal winner in the history of the Paralympics.

At the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Laurens Devos stunned the world of sports by winning a gold medal in table tennis without losing a single set at only 16. Our fellow Belgian only made his international debut in 2014, but already proved his great talent with a previously won European title.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) therefore hailed Laurens Devos as the Paralympic table tennis player of the year. It is not the only award Devos scooped up this year, as Belgian sports journalists also named him Belgian Paralympian of the Year at the Sports Gala.
