Karate: Quentin Mahauden wins the silver medal in Rabat!
In the under 75 kg category, the Belgian karateka reaches the final of the international tournament in Rabat, Morocco.

On the Moroccan tatami, the Brabançon Quentin Mahauden achieved a small feat by qualifying for the -75 kg final. To get there, he defeated the Italian Rossi (9-4) and the world number 2, Kazakh Azhikanov (2-1), in the pool. He then eliminated the world number 5, Ukrainian Zaplitnyi (3-0), in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, he managed to defeat the Turkish Bulut (7-6).
In the final, the 24-year-old Belgian karateka faced the world number one in his category, Egyptian Abdalla Abdelaziz. The fight was magnificent and concluded with a very tight defeat for the Belgian (3-4).
After winning bronze last year, Quentin Mahauden finishes his season with a beautiful silver medal.
The Belgian karateka can now have great ambitions for the next event which will be the World Championships in November 2025.
