The Belgian won the doubles final at the Australian Open with the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka. This second Grand Slam title takes her to the top of the world rankings in this discipline.

In the heat of Melbourne, the Belgian-Belarusian pair won 6-2, 6-3 against the Czechs Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in a match lasting 1 hour 19 minutes.

This final will not go down in history, as the opposing pair seemed paralysed by the challenge and made numerous unforced errors, especially on their serve. However, the Belgian and her partner were extremely focused, with a very solid baseline game.

This is the second Grand Slam title for this pair, who have been playing together since 2019. In addition to winning their first Grand Slam tournament at the 2019 US Open, the two women have also lifted trophies in Ostrava (2020), Indian Wells and Miami (2019).

The Belgian-Belarusian pair has also climbed to the top of the women's doubles world rankings thanks to their victory at the Australian Open.

After Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters, a third Belgian will now be able to boast of having taken the top spot in the world tennis rankings.
