The 33-year-old Liège native is now ranked 63rd in the world and number 2 in Belgium, just behind young tennis player Zizou Bergs.
The adventure finally came to an end at the semi-final stage of the ATP 500 tournament for the Belgian tennis player, after he lost 7-6, 6-2 to American Brandon Nakashima.
