No, you didn’t dream it: David Goffin has done it again. The talented Belgian tennis player qualified for the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 tennis tournament in Acapulco on Mexican territory. After an intense match of 1 hour 46 minutes, David Goffin beat American Ben Shelton 7-3, 6-3.
The 33-year-old Liège native is now ranked 63rd in the world and number 2 in Belgium, just behind young tennis player Zizou Bergs.
The adventure finally came to an end at the semi-final stage of the ATP 500 tournament for the Belgian tennis player, after he lost 7-6, 6-2 to American Brandon Nakashima. Reaching the quarter-finals is an achievement of which Belgium is proud.
