Arnaud De Lie wins Tour of Denmark

22/08/2024

Belgian road cycling champion Arnaud De Lie has added the Tour of Denmark to his list of achievements.

Arnaud De Lie, who hails from the province of Luxembourg, took his first major victory since being crowned Belgian national champion on 23 June.

All De Lie needed to take the leader’s jersey was a solid team time trial (stage 1) and a second place on stage 2 to seal the deal.

With his victory, the Walloon Bull (as De Lie is affectionately known) becomes the fourth Belgian in the tour’s 34-year history to take the General Classification, after Marc Streel (1998), Wout van Aert (2018) and double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel (2021).

Given that the young Belgian, who joined the pro ranks at the end of 2021, was only 22, he was also the best young rider in the bunch.

Well done to the Belgian national champion for this victory that he can add to his growing list of achievements.
