The Walloon stethoscope for the brain

08/04/2026

A company based in Wallonia is rolling out its innovative medical device, that can track neurological illnesses, all across Europe.

They’re calling it the stethoscope for the brain. NeuroClues, operating out of Louvain-la-Neuve in Walloon Brabant, has developed a headset capable of hunting down neurological diseases like Parkinson’s. The device measures certain parameters like reaction time, peak speed and the precision of ocular movement, all of which can be compared to healthy individuals. Capturing 800 images per second, the device is much more precise than the human eye.

The company’s invention has recently gotten the green light for distribution in Europe and they are currently taking steps to scale up production and step into the American market. They’re a small enterprise with great ambition, hoping their product will one day be standard in hospitals around the world, and also looking beyond Parkinson’s to other neurological conditions.

Made by brains to study brains... we salute this Belgian invention that once again shows our country’s innovative strength.
