Europe's largest indoor water film studio, with a maximum depth of 10 metres and a maximum surface area of 1,250 square metres, is located near the Vilvoorde railway station (in Flemish Brabant). It is owned by Lites, a company specialising in film equipment rentals. This studio can be used for shooting films with underwater scenes.
The pool is heated (6,000,000 litres constantly heated to 28-32 degrees!), allowing underwater shots to be taken year round. Thanks to numerous special effects and special lighting, it is also possible to simulate various weather conditions such as pouring rain, fog and wind. With the touch of a button, they can even create waves of up to a metre high!
In addition to this underwater studio, the site also boasts a regular film studio with two large movie sets of 1,700 and 1,250 m² respectively. A 1,200 m² adjacent building is also available for scene construction, not to mention offices, dressing rooms, restaurants and much more.
