Let’s go to Tomorrowland this weekend!

24/07/2020

The Tomorrowland electronic music festival will not be held in Boom this summer. However, an online version will still take place in July.

The festival, which usually attracts 400,000 people over two weekends every summer, has had to be cancelled due to the pandemic and the resulting measures to contain it.

Instead, a digital version will take place on 25 and 26 July. According to the event organisers, it will be "a spectacular online music experience featuring the world's most advanced technologies, with 3D design, video production and special effects."

Eight different digitally created stages will highlight the most famous dance music artists (David Guetta, Lost Frequenties, Afrojack, Don Diablo…) in an innovative way.

This special event is called Tommorowland Around the World. For Michel Beers, co-founder of the festival, "it's a bit like reinventing the festival experience, but we truly believe that we can bring the spirit of Tomorrowland and the highest level of entertainment into the homes of people all over the world, from Canada to Australia, and from Japan to Brazil."

In any case, the organisers' stated objective is to "welcome" at least one million people all over the world.

And for those who want a little more of the Tomorrowland atmosphere, there will be a temporary campsite in Durbuy during the same period. There will be unusual types of accommodation, like those found in the original DreamVille city, with tipis, cabins, lodges, etc. According to the project creators, it will be an experience straight out of a fairy tale.
