Study names Brussels the "world's cosiest city"

According to a study run by a British travel insurance agency, Brussels is the cosiest city in the world.

Carried out by AllClear's travel insurance experts, the study places the Belgian capital ahead of Paris (69.7), lauded for its romantic setting in winter, with its traditional cafés and the magic of the illuminations on the Champs Élysées, as well as Geneva (63.7), in third, hailed for its gentle lifestyle, nestled between lakes and mountains.

With an impressive score of 76.3, Brussels is the cosiest city in the world, according to the analysis of certain criteria – not very scientific but rather focusing on the feeling of warmth and relaxation, the density of cafés, bookshops, museums, cinemas and theatres, as well as the number of UNESCO world heritage sites, without forgetting, of course, the number of #cosy posts on Instagram.

The dictionary defines cosy as the sense of being comfortable and pleasant, or snug. And Brussels is certainly charming all year round, but never more so than in winter, when the city is transformed into what could be the setting for a real-life fairytale. Between its medieval façades, warm little bistros, traditional restaurants and museums aplenty, Belgium's capital offers visitors endless ways to shelter from the cold in a nice cosy setting...

As the study says, all these factors make Brussels "a great choice for a cosy break"!
