Street Art with a touch of feminism in Brussels
A new audio-guided tour in Brussels approaches the capital’s street art from a feminist angle.
Stretching across 4,2 kilometres through the colourful streets of Brussels, a new audio-guided walk has been designed with a feminist point of view in mind.
The 90-minute experience includes a “femmage” to Belgian film maker Chantal Akerman (whose film, Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, we needn’t remind you, was named the best film ever made by the British Film Institute).
There is a whole world to discover on this audio-guided tour, however, as it shines a light on a wide array of talented female street artists, architects, musicians and so much more.
The audio can be streamed or accessed via QR code in French, Dutch and English and should be seen as complementary to other tours that are already in place.
Did you know that every year, Brussels celebrates Matrimony Days (journées du matrimoine), referring to tangible or intangible assets of artistic or historical importance inherited from women?
