The largest floating ice rink in Europe…

02/12/2019

This year, Pairi Daiza will be open during the Christmas and New Year holidays to offer visitors an unusual experience. Young and old alike will be able to enjoy ice-skating on the largest floating ice rink in Europe.

For the first time, Pairi Daiza will open its doors to the magic of Christmas, from 14 December to 5 January. For this event, the park's artistic team has designed decors and illuminations in the form of animals. Visitors will also be able to admire audio-visual presentations and the huge Christmas tree.

According to Claire Gilissen, Communications Manager at Pairi Daiza, the artificial ice rink will be 1,500 m² in size and built on a lake. It will be accessed via a pontoon and visitors will be able to stroll around it. This vast project has been made possible, in part, by the expertise of the Walloon companies Color Production, one of the oldest companies in Europe in the mobile ice rink sector, and Charlie's Factory, which specialises in organising events on water. The structure is made from 100% recyclable materials.

So all you have to do is put on your warmest clothes and experience the joys of skating amongst magical surroundings.
