Hot chips vending machines arrive on the streets of Brussels
When it comes to chips, the story seems never-ending. The latest episode could be the arrival of chips vending machines. Although certainly not a world first, these machines are still newsworthy, especially since they have been installed in the heart of the birthplace of chips: Brussels.

Everyone has experienced that late-night hunger pang after a long evening out. However, you usually end up going to bed with a craving, or you might only have leftovers in the fridge. If you arrive too late at the chip shop or snack bar, it will have been closed for a long time. Fortunately, this problem will soon be a thing of the past thanks to two female entrepreneurs from Liège who have been down the same road and vowed that this experience would never repeat itself. They have therefore installed the first chips vending machine at Zaventem airport. A strategic choice for travellers who board or arrive very late.
This initiative offers them the opportunity to quickly savour this iconic Belgian delicacy. Brussels is expected to follow the trend soon.
This hot chips vending machine is essentially a miniature kitchen. In 35 seconds, the machine, equipped with a built-in freezer, prepares fresh, twice-fried Belgian chips for the mere amount of €3.50. It should be noted that the chips are only served with ketchup and not with mayonnaise or other sauces. This means that people with allergies, vegans or those who eat halal food will also get their money's worth.
But can these instant chips compete with traditional chips fried in beef fat? Chip shop operators are not convinced... There's only one way to find out: taste them yourself!
