Hof Van Cleve, the three-star restaurant of top chef Peter Goossens in Kruishoutem, was named best restaurant in the world by renowned culinary blog WBP Stars.

With 94 points Hof Van Cleve surpasses the Spanish El Cellar De Can Rocca. The previous year the tables were turned and Hof van Cleve was beaten by the Catalan top restaurant. Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville (in Lausanne) completes the top three.

"Hof Van Cleve is all about perfection. Everything you get is perfect, it is the most delicious food from different places in the world. Each dish puts a smile on your face. It is admirable how far Peter Goossens and his team will go to give you an unforgettable experience. Make the effort to pay them a visit, you will not regret it", praises the site.

Chef Peter Goossens and his personnel were of course delighted at this news. On Facebook the team wrote that it was greatly celebrated in the restaurant.

In the top 60 are three other Belgians. Hertog Jan of chef Gert De Mangeleer holds the 33rd place, with just behind him Likoké, Piet Huysentruyt's restaurant in France, at the 38th place. L' Air du Temps holds the 59th place.
