A Belgian restaurant among the best in the world

The Belgian establishment The Jane has been included in the ranking of the world’s best restaurants by a British travel magazine.

Each year, the highly influential Condé Nast Traveller unveils its “Hot List,” a much-anticipated selection highlighting the most outstanding restaurants of the moment across the globe. This list is closely followed by food enthusiasts and travelers seeking unique culinary experiences. For the 2026 edition, a Belgian address stands out: The Jane, in Antwerp.

At the helm is chef Nick Bril, praised by the magazine for his ability to reinvent himself. The year 2025 marked a turning point for the restaurant. Far from being a simple change of setting, The Jane left its emblematic military chapel to undergo a profound transformation.

Now located in Antwerp’s port district, the restaurant reopened its doors last October in a completely redesigned setting, with a more intimate atmosphere focused on the senses and emotion. Refined materials, luminous volumes, and a minimalist layout centered around an open stainless-steel kitchen create an immersive and soothing experience.

But it is on the plate that The Jane truly confirms its status. Condé Nast Traveller highlights “impeccable” service, combining elegance, personality, and precision. The menu is presented as a true culinary narrative, where flavors move between subtle harmony and bold contrasts, with local products elevated through meticulous execution.

This high-end positioning is likely to continue evolving following recent recognition from the Michelin Guide. The Jane has indeed been awarded two stars in the 2026 edition of the famous guide.

With this double recognition, The Jane now ranks among the most prominent dining destinations in Belgium.
