Belgian pub is the best beer destination in the world

01/02/2018

The international beer website RateBeer has voted the pub "In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst" (In the Insurance against a Great Thirst) as the world's best beer destination. Belgium also features well in this website's list of the world's top hundred beers.

It is not the first time that RateBeer has given an award to the pub in Eizeringen near Lennik. The website has already elected In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst three times as the world's best and cosiest pub. The choice is incredible, with a list of over 250 beers. Fans of geuze, lambic and traditional kriek will be the most delighted of all. If you wish to avoid standing thirsty in front of a locked door, you should know that the pub is only open on Sundays from 10 am until 8 pm, and after a funeral.

In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst is not the only Belgian pub to feature in the top fifty. Other rated establishments are:

  • Kulminator in Antwerp (6)
  • De Heeren van Liedekercke in Denderleeuw (13)
