Belgian company the last in Western Europe to produce handmade go-karts and more
A young entrepreneurial couple has identified a broad market for the sustainable production of its handmade go-karts, cargo bikes and tandems. Nostalgia from the Belle Époque translated to the wishes of customers in 2025.

Every visitor to the Belgian coast has enjoyed a ride on one of the typical Belgian pedal cars at some point. Arnaud De Buysscher, who already had experience in producing metal parts for go-karts, and his wife Charlotte Bau, saw potential in a broader business model, and took over the last remaining go-kart manufacturer. They have expanded the range with cargo bikes and tandems and are looking beyond the rental market at the coast. Holiday parks and theme parks, residential care centres, homes for people with disabilities, waste collectors in towns and municipalities, events companies and private individuals are all interested target groups. The collection includes some real stand-out pieces, all boasting solid craftsmanship. Not least their first vintage go-kart, based on an Austin racing car from 1930.
After the purely mechanical part of the production process, Arnaud and Charlotte's company steps in for the specialist finishing work, such as manufacturing metal chassis, welding and assembly. It also specialises in dismantling, comprehensively checking, metallising, painting and reassembling carts that are sometimes 50 years old. These classics therefore get a new lease of life.
A unique piece of Belgian craftsmanship from yesteryear, brought into the 21st century.
