And the winners of the photo competition are….

09/10/2020

There was no shortage of entries for our photo competition organised this summer on the theme 'Surrealist Belgium'.

We received around a hundred photos from all over the world, all depicting a unique vision of Belgium. Emblematic places such as the Atomium shrouded in fog, or the warm lights of a sunset on Place Poelaert, photos inspired by the works of Magritte, nuns eating chips, a saxophonist with his feet in the water, a smurf taking the plunge into a beer. The cities of Ghent, Namur, Antwerp, Leuven, ... the Belgian coast, the Ardennes and also the Belgium dreamed about from abroad with chocolate fountains, waffles, 'fritkots' ... all compositions with a lot of humour and artistic talent.

The photo 'Recreation' by Patricia Verburg and 'L'un n'empêche pas l'autre' by Eva Aerts won the jury prize and the public prize respectively.

Although the jury was won over by the tricolour caravan lost at the bottom of a meadow, the public preferred the windmill in front of the nuclear power station in Doel.

The two winners each win a gift voucher worth €250 for the website Belgunique, while the other winners will soon be receiving a package in the Belgian colours.

All winners will be contacted personally by e-mail.
