The 28 Belgian restaurants among the best in the world

28 Belgian restaurants are included in La Liste, the world's gastronomic "ranking of rankings".

The result of compiling thousands of press publications, hundreds of guidebooks and millions of online reviews, La Liste has been considered the world's benchmark gastronomic guide for some years.

Almost 30 Belgian establishments feature among the 1,000 best restaurants in the world, as ranked in La Liste, the gastronomic "ranking of rankings".

Not surprisingly, "Boury" in Roeselare and "Hof van Cleve" in Kruisem scored the highest marks with 96.50/100.

Next were "The Jane" (96.50) in Antwerp and "Le Chalet de la Forêt" (96) in Uccle, followed by "Hertog Jan at Botanic Antwerp" in Antwerp, "L'Eau Vive" in Profondeville, "Slagmolen" in Oudsbergen and "Zilte" in Antwerp, all four with the same rating of 93.50.

Also included were "La Villa Lorraine by Yves Mattagne" in Brussels, "Castor" in Waregem, "De Jonkman" in Bruges, "La Durée" in Izegem, "Nuance" in Duffel, "Vrijmoed" in Ghent, "D'Eugénie à Emilie" in Saint-Ghislain, "Ralf Berendsen" in Lanaken, "La Table de Maxime" in Paliseul, "Bartholomeus" in Knokke, "Cuchara" in Lommel, "Arabelle Meirlaen" in Marchin, "Comme chez Soi" in Brussels, "Sir Kwinten" in Lennik, "L'Air du Temps" in Eghezée, "La Paix" and "Bozar" in Brussels, "Colette-De Vijvers" in Scherpenheuvel-Zichem, "Het Gebaar" in Antwerp and, lastly, "Menssa" in Woluwé Saint-Pierre, which closes this elite list with a rating of 75/100.

Belgium's culinary influence is certainly not lacking in flavour!
