15-year-old Belgian becomes a doctor of quantum physics

Without a doubt the most prodigious child in Belgium, and perhaps in the world, Laurent Simons has broken all records for academic precocity.

At just 11 years of age, Laurent Simons had already obtained a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Antwerp, while most children his age are still in primary school.

With a Master's degree in physics already added to his achievements, this young man from Ostend has recently successfully defended his thesis to obtain the title of Doctor of Quantum Physics.

The young prodigy is still full of ambitions, as he now intends to put all his energy into working alongside his father in Munich to earn a doctorate in medicine focusing on artificial intelligence, a field far removed from physics.

"I'm probably the youngest person in the world to have obtained a doctorate," enthused the young teenager to the Belgian press, who dreams of creating 'superhumans' by working on technological developments that can help extend the life of the human body.

And the young Belgian maintains that, despite his busy academic schedule, he still finds the time to see friends his own age and play video games!
