Variety proclaims Belgian television series among top 10 in the world
“Dood spoor”, a Belgian television series, has been hailed as one of the ten best international series of 2025.

The series explores Ed Bex, a man with a remarkable supernatural gift that he uses to help people mourn, and when an inspector hires him to help with a murder investigation, an existential crisis ensues. The tragicomedy was written by the award-winning Malin-Sarah Gozin and features a cast of talented Belgian actors, with Peter Van den Begin in the lead role.
The honourable mention by variety puts Dood spoor (“Dead End” in English) in a list with successes like Adolescence and The Anatomy of a Moment. It places the series as “part of Flanders’ remarkable TV surge which had more titles at Canneseries or The Wit’s Mipcom Fresh TV Fiction showcase than any other region or country in the world.”
Who knows, maybe next year they mention the series This Is Not A Murder Mystery, a...well, murder mystery, in which Pierre Gervais plays a fictionalised version of surrealist painter René Magritte.
