Somewhere deep inside the Belgian province of Namur, in the Semois valley, lies one of Europe’s hidden gems: Vresse-sur-Semois.

So decided Hometogo, a vacation rental platform, based on various criteria like the cost of lodging, the beauty of the surroundings, the hiking paths in the area, the weather, and gastronomy.

The quaint little town gets a particularly high score when it comes to hiking paths: 9.77 out of 10 on Hometogo’s scale. The next highest score goes to lodging, with an 8.66. Next come the views and the weather.

Vresse-sur-Semois borders on Bouillon and, on the South and West sides, on France. Specific local attractions include the Saint-Lambert bridge and an annual bonfire lit on the first weekend of its river fishing season.
