A prestigious Oscar which meows in a Belgian style
Flow, the result of a Belgo-Latvian collaboration, is today an international success.

Flow tells the story of a mute cat, trapped in a world invaded by water and without human presence. Facing himself, he tries to survive and finds refuge on a boat. He will make unexpected encounters on his journey, at the end of which strong friendships will be created. Conveying emotions through sounds effects only, without using any word – a goal fully achieved.
On 2 March 2025, the 97th Academy Awards took place in Hollywood. This is a prestigious international event that can’t be missed. A total of 323 movies competed in 23 categories.
This year, and for the first time in the competition, Latvia won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature thanks to the film Flow. But Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis also owes the success of his film to the Brussels studio Take Five, under the direction of Gregory Zalcman. With his team, this Belgian co-producer brilliantly produced the sound effects, the only audible elements of the film. Managing to capture the heart of so many viewers is a real achievement for a film whose only audible sounds are meows, purrs and other noises of nature.
The film has already won numerous awards, including the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in France and the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature in the US.
A fine display of Belgian know-how in the film industry.
