THE MASTERS OF THE TURNTABLE ARE BELGIAN!

24/10/2019

DJs Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have been named 'Best DJs in the world' by British magazine DJ Mag. The Belgian duo, who already earned the title in 2015, took the crown from Martin Garrix, who held first place for 3 years!

The Greek Belgian group is composed of two brothers, Dimitri and Michael Thivaios, who originate from Willebroek. They entered the world of DJing at 14 years old. In 1999, they decided to leave for a European tour and then moved abroad, first to Greece, then to Ibiza, a hot spot in the electronic music industry, where they created a name in the most prestigious clubs.

They were finally acknowledged in 2011, appearing in 79th place out of the top 100 for the first time. Everything was a chain of events after. In 2013, they reached the Top 10 rankings. In 2014, they made it to the end and came in second place. Finally, they clinched their first title as best DJs in the world in 2015.

Poster boys for the Tomorrowland festival ever since, the duo doubled their efforts and worked very hard these last few years, increasing collaborations and thus earning their first place. The top 100 best DJs, the results of which are based on votes from over one million people, is published every year by British magazine DJ Mag.

The duo surpassed Martin Garrix (2nd), David Guetta (3rd), Armin van Buuren (4th) and Marshmello (5th). Coming back to wear the crown again just as in 2015, they are continuing their reign!
