Largest Belgian delegation ever at Gamescom
No less than 49 Belgian companies will be present at Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming convention – a record number.
Belgium is becoming a key part of the gaming landscape, so it’s only natural that there would be a veritable Belgian pavilion on site at Gamescom.
It’s no secret that Belgians know their video games. Just look at the massive success of Baldur’s Gate, the Dungeons & Dragons-based role-playing game from a Belgian studio that has taken home one video game award after another, including the prestigious Game of the Year award.
The Belgian video game industry is growing fast. In 2023, our country boasted over 160 gaming companies, and our talent is highly sought after. In fact, Howest, a university of applied sciences in our very own Kortrijk has a bachelor programme that’s been named the number one Game Design & Development School a solid three times in five years?
Clearly Belgians know a thing or two about gaming, and the 49 specialists hailing from our country are well in their place among the 1,400 or so exhibitors flying out to Cologne, Germany.
Oh, and one more thing. Mark 19 and 20 October in your calendars: that’s when GameForce, Belgium’s largest video game convention, is happening.
