Julie Kegels, a 27-year-old fashion designer from Antwerp, has won the LVMH prize, one of the most prestigious prizes in the fashion industry.
With international superstars like Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato and Charli XCX wearing her creations, it’s no surprise that Julie Kegels is quickly climbing the ranks. Just two years after launching her own brand following studies at the Antwerp fashion academy, Kegels and 2,400 other candidates threw their hats in the ring for a go at one of the most prestigious recognitions in their domain.
In the end, LVMH selected three finalists out of those thousands, and the young Belgian designer gets to take home €400,000 in prize money and a year-long mentorship program by the LVMH group, one of the biggest players in the luxury sector.
Did you know that Kegels is sometimes mentioned in the same breath with Marie Adam-Leenaerdt (winner of the Grand Prix d’ANDAM 2026) and Meryll Rogge and are referred to as the Belgian Three? If you’re reading this news, we’re guessing we don’t have to spell it out for you that that name is an obvious reference to the Antwerp Six.
