Ghent is the 10th biggest tech city in the world
The tech scene in Ghent is booming. So much so that the city is the fourth biggest tech city in Europe, and the tenth in the world.

The recurring Focus on Belgium reader will certainly remember our article on the Winter Circus, the AI hub in the beating heart of the city where start-ups build the Artificial Intelligence world of tomorrow. It’s just one of the reasons why the East-Flemish metropolis is growing in Dealroom’s world ranking of places to be in the technology sector.
The company that published the ranking also pointed to Ghent’s pioneering role when it comes to the use of AI in the pharmaceutical industry. A cluster of software, talent and innovation make Ghent the tech Walhalla that it is, and besides the start-ups we mentioned before, four unicorns (companies worth more than a billion dollars) hail from the city. Plus, people from outside Belgium have noticed and have been investing, creating thousands of jobs.
So: if you’re thinking of making a career in technology, you know where to go!
