Lous and the Yakuza, new prize

21/12/2021

Forbes magazine has ranked Belgian-Congolese singer Lous and the Yakuza as one of the most promising talents on the European scene in its 2021 selection. The Sacem has awarded the "Francis Lemarque Revelation on the Year Prize".

After being invited onto the Jimmy Fallon talk show in America in 2020, she totally blew away the Parisian audience at the Victoires de la Musique at the start of 2021. She is also much sought-after in the fashion world, first with Maison Chloé, and then with Louis Vuitton, who chose her as the face of its autumn-winter 2020-2021 campaign. The new star has confirmed her status as a future force to be reckoned with.

Each year, the American economic magazine, founded in 1917 by Bertie Charles Forbes, searches for talent in a wide range of areas including music, the media, sport and finance. Lous and The Yakuza is not the first Belgian personality to be included in the Forbes rankings. Angèle was featured in 2020 as one of the 30 most influential artists under 30. This is proof that Belgian talent is becoming increasingly important.

The French copyright management company has awarded the "Francis Lemarque Revelation of the Year Prize" to Lous and The Yakuza at the Grands Prix Sacem 2021.

Writer-composer-performer Lous, which spells Soul backwards, is actually called Marie-Piera Kakoma and is a joyful 24 year old young lady who sings sad songs. She is confidently continuing her rise to fame, and has an aura about her that is hard to resist.
