Five Belgian companies voted Best Workplace in Europe

20/09/2022

Each year, the international Great Place to Work institute awards the title of Best Workplace. This year, five Belgian companies were among the winners in Venice. Confidence and professional pride are two fundamental ingredients in qualifying for this award.

The institute surveyed more than 1.4 million employees in 37 countries and over 3,000 companies in Europe. It is the companies' own employees who largely determine the final ranking. The deciding factors are trust in management, pride in their work, and their enjoyment of working with their colleagues. The organisation's human resources managers are also surveyed, but their results account for a smaller percentage in the rankings of the top workplaces. Surprisingly enough, salary is not a criterion taken into account. An employer does not therefore necessarily have to pay a high salary to be highly ranked. It also doesn't matter what industry you are in - it could be shoes, burgers or non-profits, everyone has a chance.

Now, what are this year's five nuggets in Belgium?

In the category of 50 to 499 employees, the leaders were successively the software company Easi from Nivelles (3rd), the IT solutions and digital innovation company Bewire from Herentals (19th) and the consulting and IT company Axxes based in Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels (38th). Our country also excelled in the category of companies with more than 500 employees, with Bank J. Van Breda of Antwerp (18th) and Schoenen Torfs of Sint-Niklaas (33rd).

They have already taken Great Place to Work's advice and best practices to heart.
