Brussels university helps create mental health platform for migrants
Researchers from the VUB, one of Brussels’ two universities, have played a role in the European MentalHealth4All project for refugees, migrants, and healthcare professionals.

That makes Belgium one of 9 countries involved in developing this platform, which is designed as a multilingual environment with tools, educational videos and other mental health information.
It might surprise you that the particular research group involved is not necessarily mental health-related but linguistic, the Brussels Centre for Language Studies. As the VUB has said, “health care providers do not always understand their patients, and vice versa.” You can imagine the sort of problems that could ensue.
A fine example of Belgian expertise slowly but surely changing the world and of Belgium showing itself as the heart of Europe.
