Best design and gaming school is in Belgium

17/10/2024

Whether it’s for industrial product design or video games, the Belgian academic institution Howest is the place to study. That’s official!

The Kortrijk-based college received several awards at the Rookies, an award series that highlights the creative industries and talent. The organisation has been ranking the best schools for young creatives since 2009.

Howest’s Digital Arts & Entertainment degree has been recognised several times in the past already, but the additional award for the Industrial Product Design bachelor adds a certain cachet to the institution.

The Rookie prizes for two of Howest’s academic programmes go to show that Belgian knowhow is appreciated around the world and can be found in every corner of the country.

A nice recognition for this quaint town near the French border that (besides its stellar gaming and design programmes) has been known for its textile industry for centuries. The airport of Kortrijk-Wevelgem was the departure place for Zara Rutherford’s record-breaking solo circumnavigation, by the way.

Seems like lots of good things happen there if you ask us!
