02/01/2015

Belgium is ranked 15th in the list made by The Economist of the best countries to be born.

Researchers took into consideration objective parameters such as life expectancy and quality of life, as well as more subjective elements such as the perceived happiness of the population. The list is based on the situation in 2013.

It appears from the results that wealth is not the only important factor. Faith in government institutions, crime levels and the quality of family life also have an impact.

The complete list of the top 15 is: Switzerland, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Singapore, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Canada, Hong Kong, Finland, Ireland, Austria, Taiwan and Belgium.
